Regular cork in champagne bottle

Hi all, just a quick question. I purchased a couple of cases of champagne bottles off of Facebook marketplace thinking they were wine bottles and when I go to cork them with my floor Corker the corks shoot all the way down into the bottle. I've managed to successfully cork two bottles and ruin a few. And I'm wondering if there's a specific cork I can use for these or if you're only supposed to use those champagne corks?

Yes there are mushroom shape champagne corks. To use them you should also have the corker for that shape.
I would look at a crown cap or a plastic version of the Champaign cork first, the hardware is easier.
