Hi all, just a quick question. I purchased a couple of cases of champagne bottles off of Facebook marketplace thinking they were wine bottles and when I go to cork them with my floor Corker the corks shoot all the way down into the bottle. I've managed to successfully cork two bottles and ruin a few. And I'm wondering if there's a specific cork I can use for these or if you're only supposed to use those champagne corks?Clipped_image_20250208_000931.png

I second @Rice_Guy 's advice... If you decide to go with crown caps, just be aware that they come in 2 sizes, 26mm and 29mm. 26mm is what most beer bottles and many (particularly US) sparkling bottles use; 29mm is more common in europe but also used for champagne-style wines in the US. Many crown cappers have adapters so that you can use either, but obviously you need to get the caps that fit your bottles.

What size cork are you using that slips into the bottle? What is the diameter of the opening in the bottle?
