Hey everybody,

OK..... So, Now I see how fun wine making is. My question is this....

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH ALL THE WINE????

Some of you have been doing this for years. I am have a blast making it, I want to just keep picking wines and making them. But I really don't know that many people that drink wine (I live in Utah).

Any suggestions??? (and sending all my wine to you does not count) HAHA

I had a good idea for you until I read your last line.... HaHa

Not sure it is legal, but can you “swap” the wine for sometime you need or want at a Swap Meet?

All kidding aside once everyone in your household AND your friends find out andtaste it You will be out of wine.
WE drink 2-3 bottles a day here and that adds up quick.

Take tepe's advice. It's quite possibly the best advice you're going to get...

I thought the same thing when I started - what am I going to do with 30 bottles of wine of the same kind? So I didn't start my second kit until 4-5 months later - now I regret it, because as the first one was consumed/traded/given away, I realized I would have to wait another six months or so before the next one was truly ready to drink.

And, once they're gone, they're gone and you can't make good comparisons to your later efforts solely from memory.

Friends and acquaintances are always happy to receive gifts, especially of the consumable sort, I have found.

They are all stored in my cellar till proper aging and drink what I want when i want.

Goodfella,

With your wine piling up, it's a good time to allocate bottles for amateur winemaking competitions. The WineMaker Magazine competition, for example, has an entry date of next March (support George in his quest for Retailer of the Year) and there have been a couple other competitions that were listed on the forum as well.

In the least, you might win some free kits or pick up some medals.

Goodfella, you will be amazed how many of your co-workers enjoy wine. and it is a great place to get free wine bottles!! My boss and his wife are my free bottle source. AND they enjoy the wines that I have made.....so far none of it has been "cooking wine". hahaha

Think about entering some of your wine in the Winemakers Competition like Jim suggested. You may be pleasantly surprised.

You know, the wife and I have been meaning to make a trip up to Utah

. I thought the same thing before and we had some friends from work over for a wine tasting at our house and sent each of them home with wine. Worked out great because now they save their bottles for me!

Hmm I am heading to Utah at the end of the month, maybe lighten yourburden

. Anything I can do to help!

I'm sure you will find it doesn't take long to deplete the inventory.

It's amazing how fast it goes once friends and family taste it and request more and more and more. I also use it as thank yous, and b-day gifts, etc. ; not to mention all the actual drinking that takes place!

I just got rid of 2 cases yesterday! Friends, whom we see one a year came for their visit. Now I have room to make more!!! I am heading East Saturday and I will pack some more for distribution. I'll keep you in mind if I ever head back to Utah!

I totally agree with Tepe, My wife and I have many parties around the pool during summer months and many other get togethers in the winter and "getting rid of the wine" is not an issue.
Just the past 2 weeks I have gone thru 25 bottles and 13 different flavors and style..... no sir, getting ride of it is never a problem.
If you still have this issue in a few months, you can always rethink your last line... most of us here can help you out... no problem!
